A heartfelt celebration of falling
in love and taking risks…with tattooist Scott Campbell and photographer
Steven Sebring

“IF YOU CAN FALL IN LOVE WITHOUT FEAR AND WITHOUT HESITATION, YOU’RE INVINCIBLE.”

From his beginnings as a 19-year-old artist in a grimy San Francisco biker shop, to his celebrated status as fashion’s favourite tattooist, Scott Campbell has made his distinctive mark on skins from Marc Jacobs and Heath Ledger to Penelope Cruz and his wife Lake Bell. Operating from his Saved Tattoo base in Williamsburg, Scott is constantly in demand from the who’s who of the New York art scene and has exhibited his own sculptures and paintings in galleries around the world.

Here, in an intimate collaboration with the renowned filmmaker and photographer Steven Sebring, known for his enduring creative relationship with punk hero Patti Smith, Scott meets three couples who want to get each other’s names on their skin, and gives them tattoos…just for the love of it.

“A lot of people have the misconception that to be stoic and reserved is strength. And the reality is, there’s nothing more powerful than someone who is not afraid to fall in love,” explains Scott. “And not afraid to give themselves completely.”

“If you can fall in love without fear and without hesitation, you’re invincible.”
